Point Loma Nazarene defeated San Diego State in a fall softball game Saturday afternoon, 4-3. The game was scheduled for 14 innings.

The Aztecs took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning on a line-drive double to left center by Deanna Richards, scoring Kathleen Galbraith. Point Loma Nazarene, a NAIA power, scored three runs in the top of the 11th and one more in the 12th to take a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the 14th inning.

Jacque Vaca drove in two runs with an one-out double past first base and down the right field line to cut the Sea Lion lead to 4-3, but the Aztecs were unable to score the tying run.
