SAN DIEGO - After winning his first round match, San Diego State senior Mike Coehlo was eliminated from the ITA Men's West Regional qualifying tournament with a 6-1, 3-6, 12-10 loss to San Francisco's Axel Elvik on Wednesday at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

The qualifying tournament consists of 64 singles players, playing two rounds, with the remaining 16 players earning positions in the 64-person main draw, which begins on Thursday.

Coehlo advanced through the round of 64 earlier on Wednesday with a 9-4 victory over Linas Ciccnas of Loyola Marymount.

Although Coehlo was eliminated from the main draw, the Aztecs will be well represented in the main draw with seniors Felix Hardt, seeded ninth in the field, and Daniel Jung competing in the main draw. Hardt and Jung will also compete as the fifth-seeded doubles team in the 32-team doubles main draw. The doubles tournament also begins on Thursday.
