Swimmers Fall To Hawai 144-88

Honolulu - The University of Hawaii used first-place finishes in 12 of 13 events to defeat San Diego State, 144-88, Friday night in Honolulu. The loss dropped the Aztecs' dual meet record to 2-8 while the Rainbow Wahine improved to 5-10 on the year.

SDSU lone first-place came in the 200 freestyle where Hannah Ryan won with a time of 1:54.44. Her time was a season best both for her and the team. Fellow Aztec Amy Osback finished right behind Ryan in 1:55.59.

Junior Megan Storey recorded a pair of second-place finishes, taking second in both the 500 freestyle (5:03.65) and 1,000 freestyle (10:15.67). Her time in the 1,000 free was a team season best as well.

Other second-place finishes included Emily Schmied in the 200 butterfly (2:06.85), Melissa Webb in the 200 backstroke (2:10.05), Jill Karacozoff in the 200 Breaststroke (2:22.42) and Sarah Lattus in the 500 freestyle (25.17).

Up next for the Aztecs is a short trip to Los Angeles on Friday (Jan. 24) when they will take on Loyola Marymount at 1:00 p.m.
