Fort Collins, Colo. - San Diego State swimmer won three events, but fell to Colorado State, 194-104, in Friday's dual meet in Fort Collins. The loss dropped the Aztecs to 2-6 overall and 1-5 in the Mountian West Conferecne. They wrap up their league season tomorrow (Nov. 23) when they travlel to Laramie to face Wyoming.
Megan Storey was the Aztec's leading swimmer on the day, picking up first-place finishes in both the 500 free (5:14.22) and 1000 free (10:37.28). Her win in the 500 was particularly impressive as she was three-quarters of a length behind the leader with 50 yards to go.
Melissa Webb also had a good day for SDSU, winning the 200 backstroke (2:11.77) and finishing second in the 200 free (1:58.15).
In addition, freshman diver Lindsey Minnich had her best placing of the year, finishing second in the 1-meter diving with a season-best 186.37 points. She also took third in the 3-meter event with a personal best of 186.67 points.
Following tomorrow's meet at Wyoming, the Aztecs will be off unitl Dec. 5 when they will compete in the annual Speedo Cup in Long Breach, Calif.
