LOS ANGELES - Freshman Alisha Lasswell's first-place finish in the high jump was one of five season-best marks set by the San Diego State track and field team on Sunday at the Trojan Classic held at Katherine B. Loker Stadium on the Southern California campus.
Lasswell's first-place mark of 1.65 meters (5-05.00) in the high jump was also a career best.
Two of the Aztecs' season-best times came in the form of second-place finishes, the first by junior Jini Hogg in the 400-meter dash (55.05) and the second by the Aztec's 4x100 relay team (45.52). Hogg's time was a career best.
Other season bests came in the 100-meter dash, with sophomore Tonette Dyer racing to a time of 11.97 and Candace Hill throwing a distance of 45.46 meters (149.02.00) in the discus. Hill also placed fourth in the shot put (12.50m, 41-00.25).
Other highlights of the day included junior Jennifer Stakiw's fourth-place finish in the 800 meters (2:18.11) and junior Alicia Stewart's third-place time of 10:31.62 in the 3,000 meters.
Junior Leslie Miller placed third in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.73), fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (14.99) and fourth in the high jump (1.50m, 4-11.00).
SDSU next competes on March 23 (Sat.) when it hosts the Aztec Track and Field Classic to be held at the SDSU Sports Deck. Competition is scheduled to get underway at 9 a.m.
