COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State sophomore Megan Storey has been named the Mountain West Conference swimmer of the week, the league office announced Thursday. The honor is the second of Storey's career. She is also the second Aztec to earn the weekly award this season, with senior Meghan Casillan being honored on Nov. 14th.
Storey, an Edmonds, Wash., native was victorious in two individual events last Saturday, helping the Aztecs to a dual-meet win over visiting Northern Arizona. In the 500-yard freestyle Storey clocked in at 5:06.03, followed by a season-best time of 10:21.43 in the1,000 freestyle.
Last Saturday's meet was the last for the Aztecs this semester. The team returns to the pool on Jan. 4th when it travels to Irvine, Calif., for the two-day Irvine Invitational.
