Four SDSU Runners Compete At NCAA Regional

TUCSON, Ariz. - Four members of the San Diego State cross country team competed Saturday at the District 8 Championships held at the Randolph North Golf Course. The NCAA west regional was hosted by the University of Arizona.

Junior Jennifer Stakiw was the Aztecs' top finisher, running the 6K course in 23.35.30 and finishing 61st out of 165 runners. Senior Amanda Vielbaum and junior Alicia Stewart were the next SDSU representatives to finish, doing so with times of 24:32.30 (104th) and 24:52.70 (115th), respectively. Sophomore Allison Brown finished 126th with a 25:07.90 clocking.

Saturday's event brings a close to the Aztecs' 2001 season.
