SAN DIEGO - San Diego State sophomore Oliver Maiberger, the 13th ranked singles player in the country, cruised to the third round of the ITA All-American Championship in Stone Mountain, Ga. with a pair of straight-set victories on Thursday.
Maiberger, the tournament's eighth-seed, defeated Geoff Hiscox of Bowling Green 6-4, 6-2 in the first round on Thursday morning and followed it up with a second round win over Alex Zharinov of Minnesota 6-1, 6-3 this afternoon.
Maiberger, who earned All-American status last season, will face Brandon Wagner of Georgia in the third round of the first leg of the college grand slam on Friday.
