Volleyball Sweeps Air Force

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Aztecs break out the broom as they sweep their first opponent in conference action. The Falcons fell to the Aztecs with games of 30-20, 30-22 and 30-28 in East Gym at the Air Force Academy.

The Aztecs were led in the kill category by senior Katie Magnuson with a career-high 16 kills followed by junior Nicole Akporiaye with 12 kills. Sophomore Megan Schauermann had a block party at the net, totaling 10 blocks, a new career high for the Aztec.

The Falcons were led by Delavane Diaz with 13 kills, eight digs and a .214 hitting percentage.

The Aztecs totaled 51 kills, .235 hitting percentage and 12 total team blocks versus Air Force's 41 kills, .122 hitting percentage and eight total team blocks.

The Aztecs will travel to Albuquerque to battle the Lobos at New Mexico's Johnson Arena.
