SAN DIEGO - The No. 12 San Diego State water polo team (9-5) upset No. 7 UC Santa Barbara, 10-9 in overtime Sunday afternoon in Santa Barbara.
Freshman Holly Hartzell scored three goals includng the game winning goal with six seconds left in the second period of overtime. Sophomore Amber Prestegard and Senior Kelly Falcone each scored two goals. Junior Whitney Winlow and sophomores Casey Finnegan and Heidi Matsumoto each added one goal.
On defense, Hartzell and Finnegan each recorded three steals. Junior Heather Stiles had nine saves in the goal.
The Aztecs are next in action at No. 12 UC San Diego Friday, March 9 at 6:00 p.m.
