SDSU's Aja Frary In Second Place At Florida Relay's Heptathlon

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - San Diego State senior Aja scored 3,081 points in the first four events of the Heptathlon and stands in second place after the opening day of competition at the 2001 Florida Relays, Wednesday.

Frary, who trails only Brown's Lindsay Taylor (3397 points) heading into Thursday's final three events, placed second in the high jump (5-05.75), shot put (35-03.75) and 200 meters (25.23) and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.18).

Competition in the Heptathlon concludes on Thursday with the long jump, javelin and 800-meter run.

Individual track and field events at the meet begin Friday and wrap up Saturday night.
