SAN DIEGO - The No. 10 San Diego State water polo team defeated No. 19 Massachusetts, 9-4, Tuesday afternoon at Bud Kearns Pool in Balboa Park.
Freshman Holly Hartzell led the Aztecs with four goals. This marks the seventh-straight game Hartazell has been the leading scorer. Sophomore Amber Prestegard and senior Kelly Falcone each added two goals and junior Whitney Winlow recorded one goal. Junior Heather Stiles recorded 12 goalie saves.
"I was proud of the great offensive playing in Holly Hartzell," said San Diego State head coach Carin Crawford. "Overall we were able to wear them down over four quarters."
The Aztecs are next in action against No. 8 Long Beach State, Friday March 23, at 3:00 p.m. at Bud Kearns Pool.
