San Diego - Led by sophomore Kylie Edwards, the San Diego State women's cross country team earned fifth place honors at the MWC Championships today in Fort Collins, Colo.
Edwards finished the six kilometer course 31st overall, with a time of 23:10.20. Fellow sophomore Alicia Stewart finished second for the Aztecs (36th overall), clocking in at 23:20.60. Senior Sophia Hawker finished right behind Stewart (37th), with a time of 23:27.10.
BYU's Lindsey Thomsen won the women's race with a time of 20:49.70.
In the men's 8k race, Colorado State's Bryan Berryhill finished first in 24:52.80.
In two weeks, the Aztecs will run their final race of the season at the District 8 Championships in Fresno. Start time is 9 a.m.
