Women's Volleyball Shuts Out Portland State

San Diego - San Diego State made it two wins in a row on Friday, September 8th, as it defeated host Portland State three games to none in the Nike Conference Challenge in Portland, Ore. The Aztecs won the three games by scores of 15-10, 15-5, and 15-12.

SDSU was led by the hitting of sophomore Nicole Akporiaye who turned in a team-high .625 hitting percentage for the match. Senior Amy Hallquist and junior Nadia Privara had eight kills apiece to lead the Aztecs.

n improved San Diego State's season record to 2-4 while the Vikings suffered their sixth straight loss without a victory.

After two games of the tournament, Akporiaye is hitting an impressive .593. Hallquist meanwhile, leads the Aztecs in kills after two matches with 22 and is hitting .306.

Tournanenbt action continues on Saturday as San Diego State will face Oregon State at 12:30 p.m. followed by a meeting with Idaho at 5:30 p.m.
