MODESTO, Calif. - San Diego State senior Felicia Stone virtually sewed up a spot in next month's NCAA Championships, Saturday, with her fifth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2000 Modesto Relays.
Stone, who has now posted eight provisional qualification times in the 100-hurdles this season, came within 11/100th of a second of an automatic qualification mark, turning in a personal best 13.21. It is the third fastest time ever run by an Aztec in the 100-meter hurdles.
She is one of two favorites to win the 100-meter hurdles at the inaugural Mountain West Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, May 17-20 in Provo, Utah.
