One Round Done At The 54th Annual Western Intercollegiate Golf Championship

The San Diego State men's golf team posted an opening round score of 288 in the 54th Annual Western Intercollegiate Championship. The Aztecs are tied with four other schools at eight-over-par on the 6,445 yard, Par 70, Pasatiempo Golf Course in Santa Cruz, Calif.

Leading the field of 20-teams is Fresno State, which shot a blistering 266 (-14) today. The Bulldogs have a commanding 16-stroke lead on Pepperdine (282, +2) which is fighting-off several other teams for second place.

The 54th Annual Western Intercollegiate Championship is a two-day, 54-hole event and will conclude tomorrow.
