Water Polo Defeats Cal Baptist, 8-4

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's water polo team defeated California Baptist, 8-4, Saturday morning at Bud Kearns pool.

The Aztecs jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Goals by The Lady Lancers made a run in the fourth, cutting SDSU's lead to two goals, 6-4, but were held at bay by an Aztec defense which collected 16 steals in the game.

Larisa Baltgalvis and Amber Prestegard netted two goals apiece while freshmen Kristin Haddock and Natalie Nipper each scored the first goals of their collegiate careers. Senior Megan Dunbar recorded five thefts in the contest.
