The No. 6 ranked women's water polo team defeated the Univerity of Pacific, 9-5, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Match on Friday in Stockton, Calif. The Aztecs improved to 7-8 overall, 3-3 MPSF.
SDSU jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on two goals by Larisa Baltgalvis, the leading scorer for the Aztecs, at the end of the first quarter. The Tigers cut SDSU's lead to 2-1 on a goal in the second quarter by Molly Smith. The Aztecs answered with two more goals to take a 4-1 lead. Pacific was able to cut SDSU's lead to two, but that was as close as they got.
Baltgalvis scored four goals the lead the Aztecs, while Smith led Pacific with three goals. The Tigers record fell to 6-9 overall and 0-3 MPSF.
