Aztec Women's Water Polo Downs No. 6 Hawai'i 12-4

SAN DIEGO -

The San Diego State women's water polo team downed sixth ranked Hawai'i 12-4 on Saturday at Bud Kearns Pool. The Aztecs started the game strong scoring their first goal within the first minute of the game. Larisa Baltgalvis, co-captain and leading scorer for the Aztecs, led the way with seven goals in the game.

SDSU went up early and the Wahine never got to within closer than three goals after the first quarter. Megan Dunbar added two goals and four steals for SDSU. The Aztecs received balanced scoring from the rest of the team with four players scoring one goal apiece. Curran Teigan, the goalkeeper for SDSU, had a strong performance tallying 13 saves.

Hawai'i was led by Robin Jones with two goals. Lisa De Rossi, the leading scorer for the Wahine, was held scoreless.

The Aztecs return to action on March 17 to face University of Pacific in Stockton, CA. The game is set to begin at 4 p.m. The next home game for SDSU will not be until April 15 when California Baptist and Loyola Marymount travel to Bud Kearns Pool for a double-header.
