Men's Soccer Drops Overtime Decision At UC Irvine

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men?s soccer team concluded its 1999 season with a tough 2-1 overtime loss at UC Irvine on Sunday, November 7. The Aztecs ended their 1999 campaign with a record of 4-15 (0-8 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.

The contest began well for SDSU as senior forward Darren Parker scored a goal in the ninth minute after taking a pass from freshman defender Travis Baker. The score line remained 1-0 until late in the game when Irvine?s Lawrence Smalls tied the game with a close-range shot in the 79th minute.

The Anteaters struck quickly in overtime as Oliver Zlomislic hit a shot into the upper left corner from five yard s to win it for UCI.

Frehsman goalkeeper Brian Barnes record a season-high nine saves for San Diego State while Irvine?s Tyler Reid had three stops.
