Women's Volleyball Drops First Mountain Conference Match

SALT LAKE CITY - San Diego State women's volleyball dropped the opener of its weekend series in Utah. The Aztecs fell to the University of Utah, 3-1, (15-12, 9-15, 9-15, 2-15), on Friday at Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Aztecs were led by freshman middle blocker Nicole Akporoiaye, who recorded a career-high 12 kills on 28 attacks and three total blocks.

Three other Aztecs registered double digit kills, including senior Jamie Evans (11) and juniors Amy Hallquist (11) and Erin Grady (10). Elsewhere, Melissa Dickson added 40 assists.
