Swim Team Finishes First Day at WAC Championships

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's swim team is 13th out of 14 teams at the Western Athletic Conference Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla. after the first day of competition, scoring 22 points. Fourth-ranked Southern Methodist leads with 288.5 points.

The top individual performance came from Courtney Hoblick. The senior from Placentia, Calif. finished 19th in the 200 individual medley (2:08.60). Other Aztec highlights include the 200 freestyle relay team of junior Heather Gravendaal, junior Tara Johnson, freshman Natalie Harper and senior Melissa Segura, finishing 12th and the 11th-place finish by the 400 medley relay team of freshman Meghan Casillan, senior Erin Stenvers, Johnson and Hoblick.

WAC Championship action continues today and tomorrow.
