SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's track & field team, which traveled with only eight athletes, finished fourth overall in the 14-team Western Athletic Conference Indoor Championships at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs last weekend. The Aztecs finished with 51.50 points; champion BYU had 181.50 points.
Leading the way for the Aztecs was senior Aja Frary who captured the 1999 WAC Pentathlon title with 3,786 points. Other notable SDSU performances included a 2-3 finish in the 60-meter hurdles by senior Miesha McKelvy (8.24) and senior Felicia Stone (8.37). Senior Lisa Domico finished second in the long jump with a 19'10 1/4" mark and fifth in the triple jump at 38-8' 1/4. Newcomer junior Amiee Crabtree (12-5" 1/2) and Kristi Draher (11-5" 3/4) finished third and fourth, respectively.
The Aztecs will next host the Aztec Invitational Saturday, March 6 at Balboa Stadium in San Diego.
