Summer Bridge

Summer Bridge

Summer Bridge is a program coordinated by SAASS for incoming freshmen and transfer student-athletes. This program is intentionally designed to assist incoming student-athletes with their transition to college. During this program, student-athletes enroll in one 3-unit general education course, and the SAASS staff provides course-specific academic support as students’ progress through this course. It is an opportunity for them to learn about the resources provided to them and to get familiar with campus. The student-athletes also participate in fun events to get them engaged with one-another and build connections from sport to sport. In addition to the academic programming, the student-athletes participate in workshops on topics including drug and alcohol education, community living, sexual assault prevention, and mental health.
