Tim Mickelson

Tim Mickelson begins his second year with the Aztec men[apos]s golf program in 2002-03. A standout collegiate player and recent touring professional, he brings a unique perspective to the Mesa and is expected to play an influential role in the further development of the Aztec men[apos]s golf program.

A 1999 graduate of Oregon State, Mickelson played three seasons at perennial golf powerhouse Arizona State and was a member of the Sun Devils[apos] 1996 NCAA Championship squad prior to finishing up his collegiate career at OSU, where he blossomed into one of the Pacific-10 Conference[apos]s top players.

A holder of numerous Oregon State records, Mickelson[apos]s crowning achievement in Corvallis came during his final season with the Beavers as he led OSU to a second-place finish - its best ever - at the 2000 Pac-10 Championships, carding a four-round total of 13-under par.

Following the completion of his collegiate eligibility, Mickelson competed professionally on the NGA Hooters Tour. He has also played in both PGA and Buy.com-sanctioned events and has twice attended the PGA Qualifying School.

A two-time participant in the USGA U.S. Amateur (Oak Hill and Baltusrol), Mickelson[apos]s resume also includes a round of 16 appearance at the USGA Public Links and a sectional qualifying berth for the 2001 U.S. Open

Mickelson, the younger brother of the world[apos]s No. 2-ranked golfer, Phil Mickelson, is a San Diego native and prepped at University of San Diego High School.
