Tim Lanski joined San Diego State's leadership team in June 2018, and currently serves as the Deputy Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Experience. 
 
His current areas of oversight include Compliance, NIL (Aztec NIL), Student-Athlete Academic Support Services (SAASS), Student-Athlete Development (Aztecs Going Pro), Sports Medicine, Strength and Conditioning, Equipment Services, and Information Technology. Lanski also serves as the primary sport liaison for Men's Soccer, Baseball, and Softball. 
 
In addition to these responsibilities, Lanski works closely with campus partners as the Government Affairs liaison and was a leader developing NIL guidance and programming within the CSU and at SDSU. In his current role, Lanski is tasked with ensuring alignment between the athletic department and campus partners, that include but are not limited to, the SDSU Director of Government and Community Relations, Division of Business and Financial Affairs, University Counsel, Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid, Office of Housing, Division of SA+CD, Student Health Services, Counseling & Psychological Services, Office of Housing, Enrollment Services, and NCAA Certifying Officer.
 
Prior to serving in his current role, Tim served as a Senior Associate AD for Compliance and an Associate AD for Compliance at SDSU, while also previously serving as the primary sport liaison for Women's Swim & Dive. 
 
A member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) since 2011, Lanski was the Chair of the Advancement Committee and served on the Board of Directors from 2018-2022. During his time as chair of the advancement committee, NAAC saw unprecedented growth in both sponsor engagement and sponsorship dollars culminating with record setting numbers in 2022.  
 
Lanski joined San Diego State after previous stints at CSUN, Ole Miss, and UC Riverside. As an Associate Athletic Director of Compliance for the Matadors, Lanski oversaw CSUN’s compliance department, served on the athletics department’s senior staff, and was the sport supervisor for women’s soccer, men’s golf and women’s golf. Prior to his time in Northridge, Lanski was at the University of Mississippi for three and a half years in various compliance roles. Lanski began his athletics administration career at UC Riverside in September 2011 as a compliance assistant, after several years of working as a business professional in marketing and sales.

Lanski, who has been involved in college athletics since he stepped onto the Cal State San Bernardino campus in the fall of 2003, was a four-year student-athlete on the Coyotes men’s soccer team. He later became an athletics marketing intern in the department before earning his bachelor’s degree in business & administration. Lanski went on to receive his master’s degree in kinesiology, sport management from California Baptist University in 2012.

Lanski resides in San Diego with his wife Jenell and two children, Brooke and Bennett.
