Reed Plunkett (He/Him) came to San Diego State in February of 2024 and serves as one of the Assistant Directors of Marketing. In his role he oversees the marketing efforts of women's soccer, softball, women's basketball and men's and women's tennis. He also manages email marketing efforts and is responsible for executing trade agreements.
Plunkett came to San Diego State from Virginia Tech, where he served as the Coordinator of Marketing and Fan Development in 2023. In Blacksburg, Virginia, he worked with men's soccer, men's basketball, swimming and diving, and assisted with the Hokie Village for the football season.
Prior to his time at Virginia Tech, he served as a Marketing Graduate Assistant at the University of Texas from 2021-2023. While in Austin, Plunkett oversaw marketing for men's and women's tennis, assisted with women's soccer, and handled student engagement for men's basketball. Plunkett also previously worked as a marketing intern with the Indianapolis Indians and Louisville City Football Club
Plunkett graduated from IUPUI in 2021 with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Management, and International Studies. While at IUPUI he was a student-athlete, competing on the tennis team from 2017-2021 and serving as President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He later earned a Master's in Sport Management from the University of Texas at Austin in 2023.
