Mike Terrill begins his first season as an assistant coach with the Aztec volleyball program. His primary responsibilities with the Aztecs include the training of the libero and defensive specialist positions as well as the operation of the DataVolley/DataVideo systems and technical operations.
During the spring of 2009 he was the junior varsity head coach and assistant varsity coach for the boys[apos] program at Claremont High School in Claremont, Calif. The varsity squad won the Pacific League title and advanced to the CIF quarterfinals. He also served as an assistant for the Ayala High School (Chino Hills, Calif.) girls team this past summer.
Prior to relocating to Southern California, the 25-year-old Terrill was an assistant coach at Cal State Monterey Bay where he specialized in defensive systems and worked with the team[apos]s liberos and middle blockers.
Terrill also has experience at the club level after coaching the boys 16-1 team with Club West in La Verne, Calif. In addition, he has spent his summers on the road coaching satellite volleyball camps for Gold Medal Squared.
As a player at USC, he played both outside hitter and libero. During his prep days he was a two-time all-Pacific League and 2002 league MVP at Claremont High School.
Terrill graduated from USC in 2006 and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in sports psychology at San Diego State.
