Maria Barajas came to San Diego State in February of 2022 as an assistant athletic trainer. She currently works with the Aztec water polo team.
Prior to coming to SDSU, she completed an internship at the University of Tulsa with the volleyball team.
Barajas earned her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from Baylor and her Masters of Athletic Training from Baylor in 2021.
While working on her master's degree, she completed a summer internship with SDSU football, along with working with Baylor's football, volleyball and track teams, including the 2020 Sugar Bowl.
A member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and BOC certified, Barajas is also certified in FMS Level 1 and musculoskeletal dry needling.
A San Diego native, Barajas attended Carlsbad High School.
