Louis Schenk came to San Diego State in July of 2015. In his role, he serves as the event director for all Aztec home football, men’s basketball and baseball games.
Schenk was elevated to the interim assistant athletic director of facilities and operations during the 2018 fall semester and was awarded the CEFMA Event Manager of the Year award for his exceptional work during the 2018-19 school year.
At SDSU, Schenk has served as the Tony Gwynn Legacy Tournament Director since 2015 and was the tournament assistant and practice coordinator for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament when SDSU hosted the first and second rounds in 2018.
Prior to coming to SDSU, he worked in events, facilities and operations at the University of Cincinnati (2014-15), George Mason (2012-14) and Marshall (2011-12).
Schenk graduated from Northern Arizona, where he was a tight end on their football team, with a degree in history. He then earned a master’s in sport administration at Marshall while working as a graduate assistant.
Schenk is a member of the North American Society for Sports Management (NASSM) and Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA)
