Bio entering 2013 season.
Lauren Mann enters her first season as an assistant coach after a successful four-year playing career at Harvard. A native of nearby Encinitas and graduate of La Costa Canyon High School, Mann will primarily work with the San Diego State goalkeepers.
During her time in Cambridge, Mass., Mann was a rock for the Crimson, earning the starting position in her first season and taking Harvard to back-to-back NCAA tournaments her final two years.
After starting every game her freshman season, Mann was named the 2006 Ivy League Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the all-conference second team. As a sophomore, Mann continued her development and led the league in shutouts (9) while playing every minute en route to second-team all-Ivy honors once again.
In 2008, Mann led the Crimson to an NCAA berth, the school[apos]s first since 2004. That campaign, she garnered Ivy League honorable mention accolades for a side that finished its slate with a 10-3-5 (5-1-1 Ivy) record.
As a senior, Mann opened 2009 by helping the Crimson come to a 1-1 double-overtime draw against a San Diego State team that eventually went on to win the Mountain West and reach the second round of the NCAA tournament. She and her Harvard teammates would also end up in the postseason after going 6-1 in the Ivy League, marking the program[apos]s first back-to-back NCAA tournament berths since 2000-01. For her efforts, Mann picked up second-team honors from the Ivy League and all-region third-team recognition from the NSCAA.
Following her final campaign, Mann was selected to participate at the Scotland National Team Camp in Edinburgh. The appointment was her second such national team experience as she was also called to compete at the United States[apos] Under-20 Youth Camp in between her freshman and sophomore seasons.
Since the completion of her college playing career and prior to her arrival on Montezuma Mesa, Mann has been a youth soccer coach on both coasts in Massachusetts and California.
