Kelly Warren

San Diego native Kelly Warren is in her first season as SDSU[apos]s associate head coach after spending the past five years as an assistant coach with the Aztecs.

Warren previously served as an undergraduate assistant at UCLA when the Bruins were runners-up in the national title series in 1997. She also spent time in Wisconsin as an assistant coach at St. Norbert College in 1999.

Warren works with the SDSU infielders and hitters and since she joining the Aztec staff, SDSU has seen its first conference championships (2002, 2003) and have advanced to the NCAA tournament twice. In her five seasons as an assistant coach, SDSU has gone 185-121-1 (.604).

Warren[apos]s duties are not limited to the field. Besides working with players, she is responsible for Aztec softball scheduling, recruiting, fundraising and arranges all team travel.

Warren is one of the most decorated softball players in UCLA[apos]s history, starting every game during her four years of competition. She helped the Bruins to four NCAA College World Series appearances and was a member of the 1995 NCAA championship team, earning all-World Series team honors. Warren is a four-time all-Pac-10 pick, three-time all-regional selection, and two-time All-American.

Warren graduated with Bruin career records for at-bats, runs scored, hits and doubles and was named an all-decade Pac-10 honoree. Warren compiled a career batting average of .374 at UCLA.

Warren was invited to the U.S. National Team camp in 1993 and also participated in the 1993 Olympic Festival in San Antonio, Texas. Following her career at UCLA, Warren played professional softball for the Tampa Bay Firestix in the Women[apos]s Professional Softball League in 1998.

Warren is a 1992 graduate of Monte Vista High, where she competed in softball, soccer and tennis. She earned her bachelor[apos]s degree with a major in geography, environmental sciences from UCLA in 1997. Warren and husband, Dave, live in Point Loma.
