John Lally begins his first season as the Aztecs[apos] jumps and throws coach.
Lally came to San Diego State this past fall after competing and training professionally in the javelin. He was 17th overall at the 2000 U.S. Olympic trials, logging a throw of 222-8.
A 1994 graduate of the UC Berkeley with a degree in economics, Lally was a member of the school[apos]s rowing team as a freshman, before walking onto the track team. Lally was a varsity letterwinner with the Golden Bears, competing in both the decathlon and the javelin.
A native of Washington, Conn., Lally resides in San Diego.
