Jennifer Milo

Jennifer Milo, a former player and assistant coach at the University of San Diego from 1993-2001, has brought her coaching skills across town to San Diego State. She is currently in her second year as an Aztec Softball Assistant Coach. Milo[apos]s duties include working with the outfielders, hitting instruction, coordination of Aztec camps and clinics, overseeing academic progress of softball student-athletes, and recruitment of prospective student-athletes.

As a player, Milo played every inning of every game not only in high school but also in her four-year career at San Diego. A USD first baseman, she had her No. 44 uniform number retired after her career concluded and was featured in Sports Illustrated[apos]s Faces in the Crowd for her athletic achievements. She compiled a career batting average of .354 and finished her college career with a .402 senior season. She followed up her playing career with an assistant coaching stint at San Diego from 1997-2001. As an assistant at USD, her responsibilities included hitting instruction, recruiting, organizing team travel and field maintenance.

Milo earned a bachelor[apos]s of arts degree in education and a teaching credential and also received a master[apos]s degree in educational counseling at USD.

Milo also has experience as an academic counselor at SDSU. Her responsibilities at San Diego State included monitoring the academic progress of athletes for five different varsity teams, including men[apos]s basketball, and 130 student-athletes. Jennifer currently works as an academic mentor to first year football student-athletes.

Diamond sports have run in Milo[apos]s family. Her father, Robert Sr., played professional baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies organization, while her older brother, Robert Jr., played baseball at Stanford and her younger brother, Tony, played in the Anaheim Angels organization.
