Jennifer Long came to San Diego State University in 2000. She spent two years as the Sssistant Coach before becoming the Head Coach in 2002. In her 24 years at SDSU, she has coached and choreographed for both the SDSU All-Girl and Co-Ed Cheer teams. Not only does the Cheer program attend multiple sporting events and community events, but they compete nationally each year at the UCA College Nationals in Orlando, Florida. In her time as Head Coach, the cheer program has placed top five in 15 of 18 appearances at Nationals. This includes the bronze medal in 2008, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2020. SDSU earned the silver medal in 2006 and 2019 and its first ever UCA National title in 2009.
Long has been an All Star Gym owner for the past 20 years. She is currently the Co-Owner of CheerForce San Diego, where she has 15 teams ranging in all ages and levels. Her program has won five World Championships in the past eight years and multiple national titles.
Long has coached and choreographed for many high schools and programs over the past 30 years. She spent 12 years coaching her alma mater, Ramona High School Cheer and Dance, as well as four years at Poway High School and the Academy Of Our Lady Of Peace High School. Currently she is entering her 24th season as the Head Coach and Choreographer at Granite Hills High School. They are ranked in top five nationally in the Super Varsity Division 1 and are undefeated CIF Champions the past five years in a row.
