Entering his 12th season as an assistant coach at San Diego State, Greg Hutt will continue to focus his efforts on assisting with the day-to-day training of the swimmers. Hutt specializes in stroke technique and analysis.
In his time on The Mesa, Hutt has played a big role in the continued success of the Aztec program. In 2004-05, he helped lead the 200 Free Relay to a SDSU record time of 1:36.54 at the Mountain West Conference Championships.
Hutt[apos]s coaching career began in Louisville, Ky., at the Plantation Swim Club. In his eight years with the club he coached summer-league teams while swimming in age-group competitions.
Hutt has also distinguished himself in regards to personal accomplishments in swimming. As a member of the Westport High School swim team, he was the 1968-69 Kentucky state champion in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke. In 1970, he qualified for the NCAA Championships as a freshman at the University of Alabama.
Outside of swimming, he owns the Gregory Hutt Insurance Agency. Prior to starting his business, Hutt was the general manager of a letter shop for the Direct Response Group in Dallas, Texas, from 1979 to 1981.
A 1973 graduate of the University of Alabama, Hutt is single and lives in San Diego.
