Bio Entering Fall 2020
Gladie Jaffe enters her twelfth year at San Diego State and her sixth with the Aztec Athletics executive leadership team. In 2015, Jaffe moved into the role of Assistant to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics; she was promoted to Chief of Staff in 2020.
In her position, Jaffe works with the Director of Athletics and senior leadership on any and all athletics department matters and manages the office of the Athletic Director.
A native San Diegan, Jaffe received her bachelor's degree in geography with an emphasis in environmental policy from SDSU in 2008 and has worked for the University in numerous instructional and administrative capacities following her graduation. Since 2009, Jaffe has served on The Mesa as a graduate teaching associate in Political Science, an administrative assistant with the Global Change Research Group, a writing specialist and tutor for the Office of Educational Opportunity Program, an academic mentor and multiple-subject tutor in the Department of Athletics, as well as the administrative support coordinator for Women's Basketball.
Jaffe has a great passion for service to her community. She has been proud to serve on the Board of Directors both at Congregation Beth Israel and Scripps Ranch Pop Warner, and was honored with the San Diego Pride Volunteer of the Year award in 2015. Jaffe has two sons Joel (21) and Cooper (18) and lives in Scripps Ranch with her partner, Todd Hughes.
