Devin Bowen

Devin Bowen brings an impressive resume to Montezuma Mesa as he joins the San Diego State men[apos]s tennis coaching staff as a volunteer assistnant coach.

Bowen, a graduate of Texas Christian University, played four years for the Horned Frogs. During his collegiate days, his team was ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation.

Individually, Bowen earned all-Southwest Conference honors in both singles and doubles from 1992-94. He was also ranked No. 31 nationally in singles and was in the top-10 for doubles.

After his collegiate career, Bowen moved on to the professional circuit in 1994 and enjoyed success.

Bowen has played in 27 consecutive grand slam events and reached the quarterfinal round of the United States Open in 2001 and 2002.

He has recorded wins over former No. 1 player Gustavo Kuerten, Carlos Moya, Marat Safin and Marty Fish in singles competition. Bowen also owns a victory over the the No. 1 doubles team in the world, Jared Palmer and Don Johnson.

Bowen has a career-high doubles ranking of No. 39 which he earned in 2003. He has also maintained a world ranking from 1990-present.

His most recent tournament win was in 2003, when he won the doubles championship at an ATP Tour event in Amersfoort, The Netherlands.
