David Hepburn begins his first season as the Aztecs? jumps and throws coach.
Hepburn came to San Diego State in November of 2002, after coaching track at Creswell High School in Creswell, Ore., from 1997 to 2002.
While at Creswell, Hepburn helped with all facets of the Bulldog track program and also was able to serve as a coach for several individual athletes, including one who was ranked as high as seventh in the nation in the decathlon.
A 2000 graduate of the University of Oregon with a degree in economics, Hepburn trained for the decathlon with the Duck track and field squad from 1994-95. A year prior in 1993, he finished first in the decathlon at the Oregon Association meet.
A native of Eugene, Ore., Hepburn and his wife, Heather, have two daughters, Sirena (3) and Cassidy (nine months).
