Charley Murray

Former SDSU standout and floor leader Charley Murry moves from the playing floor to the bench to serve as the Aztecs[apos] student assistant coach for the 1999-2000 season. Murray was a two-time letterwinner as the Aztecs point guard from 1997-99 and the team MVP. In her two seasons, she averaged 6.5 points and 3.2 assists per game while starting 42 of SDSU[apos]s 51 games.

An All-Western Athletic Conference academic team selection following her final year of elegibility, Murray arrived on Montezuma Mesa from Southwestern Oregon Community College in Coos Bay, Ore., where she averaged 15.4 points and 4.7 assists per game. Murray was named first team all-league, All-Northwest All-Star and ranked third in the NWACC for total points scored.

A native of North Bend, Ore., Murray attended North Bend High School where she was a four-year letterwinner and was named team MVP following her senior season.

Murray is scheduled to graduate from San Diego State with a bachelor[apos]s degree in English this fall.
