Kristen Murphy came to San Diego State in February of 2024 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. She currently works with the women’s soccer and women’s tennis teams.
Prior to her time at SDSU, Murphy worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, providing care for the women’s soccer and softball teams.
Murphy earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of Utah in 2021. As a student, she worked with the football, swim and dive and softball teams. Murphy also had a yearlong clinical rotation with Judge Memorial Catholic High School in Salt Lake City.
Murphy is a San Diego native, growing up in Rancho Peñasquitos, where she was an athletic training student-aide at Westview High School.
