2022-23 SEASON (As a Senior): Competed in 13 meets for the Scarlet and Black in her fourth year on The Mesa … Finished 11th in the 1,650 freestyle at the Mountain West Championships with a career-fast time of 16:58.13, helping the Aztecs capture their second straight conference title (2-18-23) … Also logged season bests in the 200 free (1:51.45) and 500 free (4:52.07) at the MW meet, placing 10th in the latter event (2-16/17-23) … Contributed SDSU’s dual-meet triumph at home over Pepperdine with a victory in the 1000 free after touching the wall at 10:41.47 (1-13-23) … Also won the 200 free (1:56.39) in the Aztecs’ double dual sweep of Cal State East Bay and Incarnate Word (1-5-23) … Logged a season-fast time of 10:14.72 to claim the event title in the 1000 free in another dual-meet win over the University of San Diego (12-19-22) … Also led off SDSU’s third 200 free relay team vs. the Toreros, setting a career best with a 50-yard split of 25.56 … Helped the Aztecs claim the team title at the highly competitive SMU Invitational with a sixth-place performance in the 500 free (4:52.21) and a ninth-place effort in the 1650 free (17:25.07) … Additionally scored points as the leadoff swimmer for SDSU’s second 800 free relay team that finished eighth at 7:29.95 (11-17/19-23) … Placed third in the 1000 free (10:35.73) before finishing sixth in the 200 backstroke with a season-fast 2:14.30 in a home dual victory over Utah Tech (11-5-23) … Figured prominently in the Aztecs’ combined 6-0 record over Grand Canyon, LMU and Seattle at the GCU Quad Meet with a pair of event titles in the 1650 free (17:32.95) and 500 free (5:06.61) while recording a second-place finish in the 1000 free (10:35.98) … Also swam the third leg of SDSU’s second 400 free relay team that took sixth (10-21/22-22) … Helped the Aztecs to a second-place team standing at the Fresno State Chick-Fil-A Invitational with a seventh-place swim of 17:53.92 in the 1650 (10-7/8-22) … Additionally anchored SDSU’s 800 free relay team that placed fifth at 7:34.73 … Posted the second-best time in the 1500 meter free at 18:52.88 in the season-ending long course meet vs. San Diego (4-20-23) … Earned Mountain West all-academic honors for the fourth straight year along with conference scholar-athlete distinction.
2020-21: Recorded an all-MW honors-earning swim in the 500 free, completing the distance in 4:52.34 … Also aided the Aztecs’ 800 free relay squad to all-MW honors … Registered two first-place finishes at SDSU’s dual meet with Cal Poly in the 200 fly and 500 free … Collected an event title at the Aztecs’ dual meet with Pepperdine, swimming a 300 free time of 3:03.29 … Opened the season with three top-two finishes at the Fresno State Invite, highlighted by a career-best 500 free swim of 4:50.96, good for first place and the 10th-best 500 free swim in program history.
2019-20: Closed out the 2020 campaign with a third-place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 2:07.81 … Earned her career-best 50 back swim at the Mizzou Invitational as the leadoff swimmer for the Aztecs ‘C’ 200 medley relay squad, recording a time of 27.02 (Nov. 20-22, 2019) … Placed eighth in the 200 back in the Aztecs double dual meet with Boise State and Pepperdine, collecting a collegiate-best time of 2:09.04 … Her leadoff 100 free swim for SDSU’s ‘C’ 400 free relay squad was a career-best mark of 56.20 … Marked career-best times in the 50 free, 100 back, 50 breast, 100 breast, and 100 fly in the Aztecs’ pentathlon competition at USD with both the Toreros and the UCLA Bruins.
HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year letterwinner at Ladue Horton Watkins High School in Saint Louis, Missouri… Owns her high school's 500 free and 200 free records and was on record-breaking 200 and 500 freestyle relay teams... Member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta… Won the High School Character award twice... Was an Academic All-American... Also competed for the CSP Tideriders where she was coached by Dave McCrary.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Glenn Mitchell… Sister, Emma, plays softball at Seattle U and her mother is a former field hockey player at Villanova… Enjoys photography, pilates and yoga… Plans on majoring in public health with aspirations to work in the medical field… Lists MLB's St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina as her favorite athlete.
