At the conclusion of her Aztec career, was ranked in the top-10 in program history in the 50 Free (No. 5), 100 Breast (No. 1), 200 Breast (No. 1), 200 Free Relay (No. 4), 400 Free Relay (No. 4), 200 Medley Relay (No. 3), 400 Medley Relay (No. 5).

2021-22: Competed in seven meets… Recorded three “B-cut” times and competed in the NCAA Championships for the third straight season in which the event was contested… Became the first Aztec, and just the second in the history of the league, to earn Mountain West Swimmer of the Year for three consecutive years… Twice named Mountain West Swimmer of the Week… Earned All-Mountain West honors in seven events (50 Free, 100 Breast, 200 Breast, 200 & 400 Medley Relay, 200 & 400 Free Relay)… B-cut times all came at the Phill Hansel Invitational in the 50 Free (22.64), 100 Breaststroke (59.25) and 200 Breaststroke (2:09.63)… Set personal best times in the 50 Free (22.35) at the NCAA Championships, the third fasted time ever swam by an Aztec in the championships… Her 50.20 in the 100 Free and 54.81 in the 100 Back at the Phill Hansel Invitational were also personal bests.

2020-21: Qualified for the 2021 NCAA Championships in the 50 Free, 100 Breast, and 200 Breast … Her 100 Breast swim of 58.68 set the school record in the event and earned her an 11th-place national finish … Recorded the fifth-fastest in SDSU History and a career-best 50 free swim of 22.38 at the NCAAs …. Also placed 19th in the 200 breast with a time of 2:08.85, a season-best swim, at the same meet … Recorded no lower than a second-place finish at the 2021 MW Championships, earning an individual Mountain West title in the 100 breast and placing second in the 50 free and 200 breast … Opened the season with three first-place efforts at the Fresno State Invite, earning event titles in the 50 free, 100 breast, and 200 breast. 

2019-20: Named a CSCAA All-American in the 100 Breast, 200 Breast and for her part in the Aztecs’ 200 medley relay efforts at the MW Championships …Qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100 Breaststroke, 200 Breaststroke and was a part of the Aztecs’ 200 medley relay squad that earned a spot to compete at the national championships, but was unable to compete as the event was canceled due to the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) … Totaled three first-place individual finishes at the conference championships in the 50 free, 100 breast and 200 breast … Her 100 and 200 breast swims were both school and conference-record efforts … Swam legs of the Aztecs’ 200 free, 400 free, the school, conference and conference championship-record 200 medley, and 400 medley relays, each earning top finishes … Closed the regular season with a first-place finish in the 100 breast in the Aztecs’ dual meet with the University of San Diego … Recorded a bronze finish in the 100 breast at the prestigious Mizzou Invitational, alongside a fourth-place finish in the 200 breast and an 11th-place finish in the 50 free …  Topped the charts in her specialities (100 and 200 Breast) during the Aztecs’ double-dual with Pepperdine and Boise State … Saw gold medal finishes at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational in both the 100 and 200 breast. 

2018-19: CSCAA All-America Honorable Mention… Won the consolation final and recorded the ninth-fastest time in the NCAA Championships in the 100 breast at 58.93… Broke her own Mountain West and school record with that mark… Thormalm’s consolation final win gave SDSU nine points at the NCAA Championships, leaving them in 38^th place… 38^th place finish was the fifth best among California programs, trailing only Stanford, California, USC and UCLA… Also recorded the third-fastest 200 breast stroke time in school history at 2:11.25 at the NCAA Championships in March 23… Posted the seventh-fastest 50 free time in program history at 22.70 at the Mountain West Championships... Member of both the 200 medley (1:36.76) and 400 medley (3:32.28) relay teams that set Mountain West records… Led the Aztecs with six all-MW honors (50 free, 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 free relay, 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay)… Finished third in the 50 free, second in the 100 breast, and fourth in the 200 breast at the Mountain West Championships… Won the 200 breast at the Mizzou Invitational in November with a time of 2:11.76.

2017-18: Earned Freshman of the Meet honors at the 2018 Mountain West Championships… Posted three top-10 times in program history, including a 22.72 in the 50 free, a 1:00.93 in the 100 breast, and a 2:12.13 in the 200 breast, all at the MW Championships… Earned all-MW status in each of those three events, finishing second in the 50 free and 200 breast and third in the 100 breast… Recorded a pair of first-place finishes in dual meet competition.

Full name is Klara Lina Linnea Thormalm, born on March 29, 1998 in Vetlanda, Jonkoping, Sweden… Daughter of Lars and Birgitta… Has five siblings, including sophomore SDSU swimmer Alma Thormalm… Psychology major at SDSU.
