Sergio Duck enters his second season with the Aztecs as the team's goalkeeper coach under head coach Mike Friesen.
In his first season at San Diego State, Duck helped the Aztecs (15-4-1; 10-1 MW) win the 2015 Mountain West regular-season title. Under his tutelage, senior goalkeeper Melanie Vaughn earned second-team all-Mountain West honors, while ranking first in the MW in shutouts (8), second in goals-against average (0.75) and third in save percentage (.821). A three-time MW all-tournament selection, Vaughn collected her first career all-league honor.
Prior to his arrival at SDSU, Duck was a goalkeeper in the youth system of the Tijuana Xolos soccer club all the way to the U-20 level and he also played for several MPSL teams in California.
