A native of the Netherlands, Bruchinski began his rowing career as an undergraduate at Tilburg University in 2005. Between 2007 and 2012, Bruchinski rowed as a member of the Dutch National Team and raced at three World Rowing Championships where he earned a bronze medal. Among other career highlights are competing in several World Rowing Cups where he would earn multiple medals. In 2012, he was named an alternate for the Dutch Olympic rowing team.

Bruschinski would earn his bachelor's degree at Tilburg University in international law and work as a change consultant and manager of operations at NN Group. Continuing his education as Tias School for Business and Society, Bruschinski earned his master's degree in management and organizational studies.

Before arriving in America's Finest City in spring 2015, Bruschinski served as the men's coach for Tilburg University's Vidar rowing club, where he developed a structure and various training methods for the student-athletes to compete at the highest level. Under his guidance, the team earned a national championship title in the Men's Under 23 pair and several of his athletes were selected to compete for the Dutch National Development team. In 2013, he was chosen to coach one of the Dutch's top boats, the lightweight four, which finished seventh at the World Rowing Under-23 Championships.

As part of his new position, Bruschinski will be involved in all aspects of the team including coaching, recruiting, video review, developing training plans and team logistics.
