Taylor Oliver enters her first year as a volunteer assistant with the Aztec coaching staff. A native of Annapolis, Md., Oliver arrives on The Mesa after playing two seasons at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
While at UMBC, Oliver enjoyed her most productive collegiate season as a senior in 2018, finishing with 12 points on 11 goals and one assist at the attack position.
Against VCU last year, Oliver netted her second career hat trick, helping the Retrievers race to a 21-9 victory. She also tallied two strikes apiece in a pair of wins over LIU Brooklyn (16-3) and UMass Lowell (9-7) while collecting a personal-best three ground balls in another UMBC triumph over American (14-12).
A three-year letterwinner at St. Mary’s High School in Annapolis, Oliver originally signed with Colorado, where she complied eight goals, one assist and five ground balls in two seasons as a reserve attack. In her first appearance for the Buffaloes as a freshman in 2015, she scored three goals and scooped up one ground ball in the team’s 19-0 shutout of Presbyterian.
In addition to lacrosse, Oliver played forward in field hockey as a prep and was a National Honor Society member. She also competed for the Maryland United Lacrosse Club, the same program that produced current SDSU players Elizabeth Adams and Taylor Sullivan, as well as former Aztec Alex Watson.
