Mel Boscarino

TitleAssistant Coach
Mel Boscarino
Mel Boscarino joined the staff as the Director of Player Development in the fall of 2021 and then was promoted to assistant coach prior to the 2023-24 season.

Boscarino has helped lead the Aztecs to four straight 20+ win seasons and two Mountain West Championships.

The last three seasons, SDSU has had their three highest scoring teams under head coach Stacie Terry-Hutson. The 2025-26 team averaged the most points by an Aztec team since 1994-95 and saw the Aztecs make the postseason for the third time in the last four years.

In the 2025-26 season, the Aztecs won the Mountain West regular season with a 19-1 record and won 27 games overall to tie a school record. SDSU advanced to the quarterfinals of the WBIT and set school records for three-pointers, free throw percentage and fewest turnovers per game.

In 2025, the Aztecs won the Mountain West Tournament championship and qualified for the NCAA tournament, both firsts for the program since 2012. SDSU’s 25 wins in 2024-25 tied for the third most in program history, and 15 of those wins came away from home, which set a school record.

Boscarino's responsibilities include filming and editing of games and practices, creating player and scout edits and highlights, as well as supervising all student staff and assisting with the program’s social media platforms.

She joined the women’s basketball staff after working for SDSU’s event management department since 2019. Prior to SDSU, Boscarino spent time in the events departments at Wake Forest (2018-19) and Stanford (2017-18).

A Los Angeles native, Boscarino concluded her playing career in 2016 with a bachelor’s in communications from Dominican University of California. She then went on to receive her master’s degree in sport management from the University of San Francisco in 2018.
