Mel Boscarino

TitleAssistant Coach & Director of Player Development
Mel Boscarino
Mel Boscarino joined the staff as the Director of Player Development in the fall of 2021 and then was promoted to assistant coach prior to the 2023-24 season.

In the two years that Boscarino has been on the coaching staff, SDSU has had their two highest scoring teams under head coach Stacie Terry-Hutson and the 2024-25 team averaged the most points by an Aztec team since the 1994-95 season.

In 2025, the Aztecs won the Mountain West Tournament championship and qualified for the NCAA tournament, both firsts for the program since 2012. SDSU’s 25 wins in 2024-25 tied for the third most in program history, and 15 of those wins came away from home, which set a school record.

Boscarino's responsibilities include filming and editing of games and practices, creating player and scout edits and highlights, as well as supervising all student staff and assisting with the program’s social media platforms.

She joined the women’s basketball staff after working for SDSU’s event management department since 2019. Prior to SDSU, Boscarino spent time in the events departments at Wake Forest (2018-19) and Stanford (2017-18).

A Los Angeles native, Boscarino concluded her playing career in 2016 with a bachelor’s in communications from Dominican University of California. She then went on to receive her master’s degree in sport management from the University of San Francisco in 2018.
