Following the 2019-20 season, Naomi Ekwedike shifted from player to administrator, joining the Aztec coaching staff as a graduate assistant.
In her role, she will oversee opponent practice coverage, the team photo shoot and coordinate alumni relations and parent outreach.
A native of Lagos, Nigeria, Ekwedike appeared in 48 games for the Aztecs from 2016-20. Her best season came in 2017-18 when she appeared in 22 games and shot 52 percent from the field.
She graduated from SDSU in May of 2020 with a degree in business administration. While on staff, Ekwedike will be working toward a master’s degree in homeland security.
