Entering 2020-21 Season
Mercedes Riggs will be entering her third year as the Aztecs’ director of player development. In her role, Riggs coordinates film exchange, edits game and practice film, develops team highlight videos, assists in the Aztecs' recruiting efforts, oversees the team's student managers and helps manage the team’s social media accounts. Additionally, she lends support to Jon Silver, SDSU’s director of basketball operations, in the planning and preparation of all team events.
A former point guard at Duke, Riggs spent two years as an assistant coach and video coordinator at Salt Lake Community College in Utah prior to coming to SDSU.
A native of Lindon, Utah, Riggs played two years at Salt Lake Community College, where she earned All-America honors. She then transferred to Duke, where she appeared in 56 games and was team captain as a senior.
